1. Amazon/CafePress Custom Kindle covers
I was quite excited to see these create your own Kindle cases for the Fire & Paperwhite models. The reality doesn't quite live up to the hype.
I don't know about the Fire cases--the only one I've seen seemed fairly smooth--but the current Paperwhite case has a very heavy, almost diamond-patterned texture to the leather. The printing, surprisingly, does show on it, even in the deeper crevices of the leather. Given that they were dealing with some very fine lines in the image I used, I'm impressed that the print shows no breaks or gaps from the texture.
That said, the texture will detract from almost anything other than an abstract image, in my opinion. Put a photo of a person on there, and they'll look like they have a skin disease. So your choice of image is going to be critical to whether or not you enjoy the final result, at least specifically on this case.

2. What You See is Not What You Get
As others have said, the grain of the leather in the Paperwhite cover really distorts any image (unless you choose something abstract). The preview does not show this (I used a family picture that looked great in the preview, yet we all look pretty horrible in the final product because of the grain of the leather). Very disappointed. Also the cropping was not the way I indicated it in my order, with large black bars at the top and bottom of the image. Not recommended.

Not as Pictured, Not as Expected
Not at all happy with this Kindle cover. All the images on the product information page show the custom image covering the entire cover area. The case I received has a gap more than half an inch wide at both the top and bottom of the cover. It looks terrible. The preview images provided also do not show how clearly the leather cover's texture will show through the image. This just adds to how bad it looks. You can barely make out the image I used. I'm terribly disappointed in this product and am returning it immediately.
